The application of beryllium copper in the field of defense equipment

Beryllium-copper alloy, due to its outstanding high strength, high conductivity, fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance, holds irreplaceable strategic value in the field of defense equipment and is mainly applied in the following key equipment:

Radar and Electronic Systems

Radar T/R Components: Beryllium-copper alloy (such as C17200) is used to manufacture the high-frequency connectors, waveguide cavities, and heat dissipation substrates of the radar transmitting/receiving module. Its high electrical conductivity (18% - 28% IACS) and thermal conductivity (105 - 160 W/(m·K)) ensure signal transmission efficiency and system heat dissipation requirements.

Electronic Equipment: As an electromagnetic shielding material and high-speed signal contacts, it guarantees communication stability in complex electromagnetic environments (69).

Aerospace Equipment

Inertial Navigation Components: Precise springs and gyroscope bearings made of alloys such as QBe1.9 and CuBe2 ensure navigation accuracy (68).

Engine Critical Components: High-temperature components such as turbine blades and fuel valve springs use 275C beryllium copper (C82800), which has a high heat resistance (instantaneous tolerance of 600°C) and anti-fatigue properties, extending the equipment lifespan (710).

Ship and Underwater Equipment

Sonar Transducers: The corrosion resistance of beryllium-copper alloy (annual corrosion depth < 0.015 mm) ensures long-term underwater detection reliability (9).

Submarine Electrical System: High-pressure sealed connectors and circuit breakers use QBe1.9 alloy, which combines high strength and conductivity (810).
