Corrosion resistance

The most remarkable feature of the corrosion-resistant B10 beryllium-nickel-copper plate is its excellent corrosion resistance, especially in marine environments. The nickel in the alloy can effectively prevent pitting corrosion caused by chloride ions, ensuring that the alloy remains stable in high-corrosive environments such as seawater and salt fog for a long time. The B10 beryllium-nickel-copper plate also exhibits extremely strong corrosion resistance under conditions containing hydrogen sulfide and high temperatures and pressures, which makes it widely used in equipment in the oil and gas industries.

The B10 alloy with approximately 10% nickel performs well in seawater. The addition of nickel significantly enhances the passivation ability of the B10 beryllium-nickel-copper plate, forming a dense oxide film (CuO/NiO) on the surface, effectively resisting the erosion of Cl⁻ ions. Iron further refines the crystal grains and inhibits local corrosion.
